The Wisdom of Tolkien

Continuing the "month o' poetry," here's another gem I love. From "The Lord of the Rings":

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
Somehow it's both stirring and comforting.

Hmmm I think I get it.
And in response to your comment: Letting Christ lead is big a struggle for me. Most of the time I don't even realize I'm fighting him. It's not usually until I look back on my actions that I realize, "Hey that wasn't very Christ like."

Which is funny because in those Ephemera books I was telling you about, the earth "Ephemera" will make a journey especially hard for you if it's not the right journey for you or you're going somewhere you shouldn't.

Hi Girlie. I didn't realize until last friday that I hadn't been to your blogsite since December 08. Wow! I missed a lot. So I just finished catching up. Good stuff.

So, I guess you know that I'm married now. Not pregnant...yet. Madelie has me beat on that one. She got pregnant one week after her wedding. Yeah, my uterus is wacky. So who knows how long it will take for me. Oh well. I'm enjoying the silence at night time and the absence of nausea. heehee.

So my church has a new youth/evangelism minister. Actually, he was the associate pastor at the church I work at. Some members are none to happy with me right now. "You stole our pastor." Whatever.

I would to catch up some more. 314-719-9187 call me anytime after 9pm on weeknights, or anytime on the weekends.
